Snowscapes in the Poconos: Pines Lake

This year I am lucky to be blessed with some brand-new equipment to help me gear up for News21 this summer, and my impending entry into the "real world" after that. A Nikon D700 and a new Sigma 20mm f/1.8 lens round out my camera bag nicely. Here are some shots on the new combo.

Taylor Weidman gave me a great landscape pro-tip when we were in London: "Put some shit in the foreground, a rock or whatever, it doesn't matter." I will never forget his wisdom.

That house on the other side of the lake is the concessions stand in the summer.

On a full frame sensor, the 20mm has a nice soft vignette at f/1.8. It disappears at f/4-ish, and can be removed from even shots at f/1.8 with Lightroom.
